Hatching Egg Policy

By purchasing eggs from Ginger Bee Farm, you accept all the terms of our hatching egg policy.

As of 2026, we sell individual dozens each week as they are available. We do not accept preorders. Joining the Poultry Mailing List is the best way to see the available dozens as soon as they drop.

We ship using USPS Priority Shipping. Eggs are individually wrapped and/or cushioned, the cartons are well-padded, and eggs are double boxed. All eggs are guaranteed to be less than 7 days old at time of shipping.

If more than 25% of purchased eggs arrive damaged, Ginger Bee Farm will refund the shipping cost of the package. There is no hatch rate guarantee. Eggs and embryos are fragile, and the risk of eggs being non-viable at arrival increases with distance travelled. The treatment and incubation of eggs after they arrive also affects their chances of hatching. We do our best to make sure eggs arrive to you with the best chance of hatching, and include instructions on how to incubate them. Our eggs are fertility tested often and we conduct our own test hatches often. Hatching eggs are always a risk, and we do not offer refunds for a low hatch rate or non-viable eggs.

Buyers will have the option to choose direct front door delivery or to have the package held at their local post office. Neither option is inherently better than the other. If you have a good relationship with your post office and trust them, having eggs held there may be a great choice to reduce the eggs’ transit time as much as possible. However, it seems that some post offices will disregard “hold for pickup” instructions and send eggs off for local trucks to deliver. In order to test the harshest delivery conditions, all our shipping test eggs were sent to test hatchers’ front doors.

Eggs are marked based on the chick they will produce. The color of the egg does not necessarily determine the egg color that chick, if female, will produce. Egg pigmentation is strongest during the spring and decreases as the warm season progresses, and even at peak pigment production, a hen’s egg varies day to day. The egg color you see represents careful selection of breeding stock and genetic planning, and you can trust that the eggs you receive are the best Ginger Bee has to offer from our poultry program.

In addition to your eggs, each package will hold NPIP certification paperwork, an egg identification cheat sheet, and an incubation guide.
